NIMS: Incident Command System (ICS) for the Fire Service
Weber Emergency Services has certified Fire Instructors who can provide NIMS - Incident Command System (ICS) for the Fire Service training that meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1561 Standard on Emergency Services Incident Management System.
Our instructors and training are certified by the Michigan Firefighters Training Council Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT) as well as the National Fire Academy (NFA) to meet the requirements of this curriculum.
This 16 hour training is a pre-requisite for the Company Officer I & II program and can be scheduled at your facility at your convenience. Students must meet the prerequisites set forth by the Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT).
This course is designed to meet the needs of Fire Fighters and Fire Officers who have responsibilities to deploy, implement, and/or function within an Incident Command System (ICS). This program addresses the need for an incident management system. It provides an overview of the structure, how ICS can be expanded for the nature of the incident and addresses command skills needed by Fire Fighters and Fire Officers on the effective use of ICS guidelines, and includes scenario practice on how to apply ICS.
The National Integration Center (NIC) Incident Management Systems Integration Division has recognized this training as meeting the requirements for ICS-100; Introduction to Incident Command System and ICS-200; ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents for NIMS compliance training purposes.
