Incident Safety Officer

Weber Emergency Services

Weber Emergency Services has certified Fire Instructors who can provide Incident Safety Officer training that meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1521 Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer.

Our instructors and training are certified by the Michigan Firefighters Training Council Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT) as well as the National Fire Academy (NFA) to meet the requirements of this curriculum.

This 15 hour training is a pre-requisite for the Company Officer I & II program and can be scheduled at your facility at your convenience. Students must meet the prerequisites set forth by the Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT).

The course is an incident-specific; scene-oriented course designed to teach what a Safety Officer at an incident needs to know, using scenarios to convey instructional points.

Topics covered include:

  • Firefighter fatality and injury data
  • Principles of risk management
  • Safety responsibilities
