Education Methodology

Weber Emergency Services

Education Methodology is a 16 hour Office of Firefighter Training (OFFT) approved course. The course is designed to introduce the prospective fire service instructor to teaching methodology and to provide participants with a better understanding of the teaching/learning process.

The course includes units on:

  • Instructor/student relationships
  • Teaching methods and techniques
  • Use of instructional aids
  • Measurement and evaluation
  • Demonstration presentations

Students will also give a presentation as part of the course, based upon the materials that are presented.

This course is an OFFT pre-requisite for admission into the Company Officer I & II program.

Weber Emergency Services has certified Fire Instructors who are experienced in teaching and mentoring prospective instructors and can provide this training for you.
